Exploring Smart Lighting Automation with Shelly

Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring some cool automation ideas with my Shelly devices and thought I’d share my findings and ask for your insights!

First off, I’ve been using the Shelly 2.5 for controlling my outdoor lights, and it’s been a game-changer. I set up a routine where the lights turn on automatically at sunset and off at midnight. It’s amazing how seamless this integration is with my smart home setup. But here’s where I hit a snag: I wanted to add a motion sensor to the mix. I tried connecting a PIR sensor to the Shelly, but it didn’t quite work as expected. The lights would sometimes stay on even when there was no motion, which was a bit frustrating. Has anyone else experienced this or have tips on how to fine-tune this setup?

On a lighter note, I stumbled upon a fantastic feature in the Shelly app that allows you to set custom scenes. I created a ‘Goodnight’ scene that dims the lights and sets the thermostat to a cozy temperature. It’s these little touches that make home automation so enjoyable!

I’d love to hear about your experiences with Shelly devices or any clever automation hacks you’ve come across. What’s your favorite feature or workaround when it comes to smart lighting?
