Exploring Smart Lighting Configurations and My Experiences with Govee and Shelly

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and tips. I’ve been using Govee rope lights and Shelly devices, and the journey has been both exciting and a bit challenging.

Starting with the Govee 3-meter rope light, it’s been a fantastic addition to my home. I’ve used it to create some cool effects, like an infinity sign and random light shows. The setup was straightforward, and the color transitions are smooth. It’s definitely a hit in my space, and I love how versatile it is for different moods and occasions.

On the Shelly front, I’ve been working on integrating the Shelly 1 mini Gen 3 with a BLU Motion motion sensor for my Eltako system. The initial setup was a breeze, but I ran into an interesting issue. When I move from my upstairs bedroom to the ground floor in the morning, the motion sensor automatically turns on the lights. It’s convenient, but sometimes it’s a bit too bright when I’m half-asleep. I’ve been wondering if there’s a way to dim the lights for a short period or schedule them to be at a lower brightness during early hours.

I’ve also been exploring the use of external converters in Zigbee2MQTT for unsupported devices. It’s been a learning curve, and I’ve had some hiccups along the way, but I’m determined to figure it out. The community support has been invaluable, and I’m grateful for the resources available.

If anyone has tips on fine-tuning motion sensor brightness or experiences with similar setups, I’d love to hear about them! It’s always great to learn from others’ experiences and innovations.

Happy lighting adventures to all!
