Hi everyone, I’m currently diving into the world of smart lighting and wanted to share my experiences and thoughts with you all. I’ve been using HomeMatic for a while now, and while I love its reliability, I’m looking to integrate some Philips Hue lights into my setup. I’ve heard great things about the Mediola software, but I’m a bit confused about whether I need the Mediola gateway alongside my existing CCU2. From what I understand, the Mediola gateway allows for better control over non-HomeMatic devices, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s a must-have or just an added convenience.
I also came across DashUI and CCU-IO, which seem like they could be useful for a smoother integration. I’m curious to know if anyone has successfully used these tools to control a mix of HomeMatic and non-HomeMatic devices without any hiccups. My long-term goal is to have a seamless system where I can control everything from my iPad, ensuring that my wife is also on board with the setup—high WAF is a must!
I’m particularly interested in creating scenes, like a ‘Cinema Mode’ where the lights dim, the blinds close, and the entertainment system powers on with a single tap. If anyone has tips or tricks for achieving this or has faced similar challenges, I’d love to hear about your experiences. Let’s keep the discussion positive and informative! Thanks in advance for your insights. ![]()
