Hi all,
I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately and thought I’d share my experiences and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. I recently upgraded my Philips Hue setup and integrated it with Homey, and it’s been a fantastic journey!
One thing I wanted to achieve was automating my hallway lights to turn on when motion is detected, especially when it’s dark outside. After some research, I found that combining motion sensors with light level detection was the key. I set up a rule in Homey that activates the hallway lights if motion is detected and the ambient light is below a certain threshold. It’s worked like a charm so far!
However, I ran into an interesting challenge when trying to replicate this setup for my bathroom lights. The motion sensor I used in the hallway didn’t seem to work as reliably in the bathroom. After some troubleshooting, I realized it was due to the bathroom’s layout and the sensor’s placement. I ended up adjusting the sensor’s angle and tweaking the sensitivity settings in Homey, and now it works perfectly!
I’d love to hear how others have integrated their Philips Hue systems with Homey or other platforms. Do you have any favorite automations or tips for optimizing smart lighting setups? I’m always on the lookout for new ideas to enhance my smart home experience!
Cheers,
