I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I’m thrilled to share my experiences and insights with the community. One of the challenges I’ve encountered is integrating Ring Smart Lighting devices, particularly the transformer for my landscape lighting, with my existing smart home ecosystem. While the Ring app and hub work seamlessly for cameras and doorbells, getting the lighting devices to connect with my Homey setup has been a bit of a puzzle.
After some research and trial and error, I discovered that the Ring Smart Lighting devices do require a Ring hub to function properly. This means that while they can’t be directly integrated into Homey without additional setup, there are workarounds. I’ve been exploring the possibility of using third-party apps or custom integrations to bridge the gap between Ring and Homey. If anyone has successfully done this or has tips to share, I’d be grateful for the advice!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with creating custom lighting scenes for movie nights and outdoor gatherings. It’s amazing how a well-designed lighting setup can transform the ambiance of a space.
