I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! 
I’ve always been curious about how to integrate smart lighting into my home without breaking the bank, and I think I’ve found some great solutions that I’d love to share with the community.
Starting off, I decided to go with Zigbee-based devices because of their reliability and seamless integration with my existing setup. I came across the Zigbee 5-Button Remote with Rotary Dial and it’s been a game-changer for me. The ability to map multiple actions to a single button has made controlling my lights so much easier. For example, I can now adjust both brightness and hue with a single button press and a quick twist of the dial. It’s these small touches that really make smart lighting feel like a natural extension of my home.
Another device that’s caught my attention is the Govee Cylinder Floor Lamp. It’s sleek, modern, and packs a punch when it comes to ambiance. I love how it can switch between warm white and vibrant colors with ease. Plus, the fact that it’s sturdy enough to withstand my cats’ playful antics is a huge plus! 
I’ve also been experimenting with setting up routines using Node-RED. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but the ability to automate my lighting based on time, motion, or even my mood has been incredibly satisfying. For instance, I’ve set up a routine where the lights dim and change to a warmer hue as the sun sets, creating a cozy evening atmosphere without any effort on my part.
However, I’ve run into a few hiccups along the way. One thing I’m still trying to figure out is how to create a notification system that’s only active when a virtual switch is turned on. I’ve tried using restrictions and door/window sensors, but I’m not quite there yet. If anyone has tips or tricks on how to achieve this, I’d be more than grateful! 
Overall, my journey into smart lighting has been filled with both successes and learning opportunities. It’s amazing how technology can enhance our daily lives in such subtle yet meaningful ways. I’m excited to continue exploring and improving my setup, and I can’t wait to see what new innovations the future holds!
