Exploring Smart Lighting Solutions: My Recent Project with Govee and Samsung

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating smart lighting into my home. It’s been a fascinating journey, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or tips!

I recently purchased a Govee smart LED light bulb and a 2-meter DreamColor LED strip. The setup has been a game-changer for my living room ambiance. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions are simply stunning! However, I encountered a minor challenge when trying to attach the LED strip to my Samsung TV. The adhesive wasn’t as strong as I hoped, so I had to use extra-sticky adhesive to make it work. Lesson learned: always double-check the adhesion surface!

On another note, I’ve been exploring the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 and its flexibility. I’m curious if anyone has successfully cut this light and had the app recognize the new length. Any insights or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

I also wanted to highlight the Samsung TV (Connect) App. After some trial and error, I managed to connect my older Samsung TVs to my SmartThings ecosystem. It’s amazing how this app brings older devices into the smart home fold. Though there are some quirks, the ability to control everything from one interface is worth it!

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with RGB Genie ZV-1008 color modes. The included instructions mention setting parameters for modes like rainbow or fade flash, but I’m still figuring out how to send these commands via the app. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear your approach!

Smart home integration is such a rewarding process, even with the occasional bumps along the way. I’m excited to continue exploring and learning from this amazing community!

Cheers,
