Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart locks lately and decided to give the Aqara U200 a try. After setting it up, I noticed something interesting about how the unlock and unlatch functions work, especially since I’m in Turkey where most apartment doors don’t have outside handles. I wanted to share my experience and see if others have encountered similar issues or found solutions.
Initially, I was a bit confused about the behavior of the lock when using the “Unlock” and “Unlock + Unlatch” buttons. It seemed like pressing just “Unlock” still retracted the latch, which wasn’t what I expected. This made me wonder if there was a way to configure the lock to truly distinguish between unlocking the deadbolt and unlatching the door. After some research and reaching out to the Aqara community, I found that this behavior is due to the lack of an outside handle on my door, which changes how the lock operates.
I decided to test different configurations in the Aqara app and found that enabling the Pull Spring feature was essential for my setup. This ensures that both the deadbolt and latch are retracted when I press “Unlock + Unlatch,” making it easier to open the door from the outside. However, I still wish there was a clearer distinction between the two functions in the app interface to avoid confusion.
This experience has been a great learning opportunity, and I’m excited to see how Aqara improves the product in future firmware updates. If anyone else has tips or tricks for optimizing the U200, especially for doors without outside handles, I’d love to hear them!
