I currently have five smart locks on my SmartThings platform (all Z-Wave), which I’ve been using for Airbnb automation with RBOY Apps. One feature I’m particularly excited about is the ability to provision temporary access codes based on my calendar events. For example, if I have a service appointment or a friend coming over, I could automate the creation of a temporary code that expires after a set time. This would add an extra layer of convenience and security to my home setup.
I also want to set up battery level monitoring. I’ve had issues in the past with locks suddenly dying because I didn’t monitor the battery levels closely. With HA’s automation capabilities, I could easily set up notifications or even integrate with my smart speaker to alert me when a lock’s battery is low.
I’m curious if anyone else has experience with the Seam.co API or similar integrations. Have you encountered any limitations or quirks?
