Hi everyone, I’m currently exploring options for a smart speaker that doesn’t rely on cloud services. My goal is to find a device that can play audio notifications without needing constant internet connectivity. While I’m open to devices with speech recognition as a bonus, it’s not a requirement.
I’ve come across the Aqara Hub and DIY solutions using Mycroft, but I’m curious if there are other alternatives that might offer better integration with Home Assistant. I’ve also considered IKEA’s WiFi speakers, but I’m not sure how well they function without cloud services.
Has anyone successfully set up a smart speaker system that operates entirely offline? I’m particularly interested in hearing about experiences with Aqara or other hubs that support local processing. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to your insights and experiences. Thanks in advance!
