Hi everyone, I’m currently in the process of expanding my smart home setup and have been looking into smart switches to automate more of my home. I’ve been using some Sonoff products before and have been pretty happy with them, so I was considering sticking with the brand. However, I came across two models that caught my attention: the Sonoff Basic R3 and the Sonoff Mini Two-Way. Both seem to be similarly priced, so I’m trying to figure out which one would be the better fit for my needs.
From what I’ve read, the Mini Two-Way seems to offer more functionality, such as the ability to connect physical switches and having an external antenna, which could be a big plus, especially for installations in tricky locations. On the other hand, the Basic R3 is known for its reliability and simplicity, which might be exactly what I need for some of my projects.
I’ve heard from a few users who have both devices, but I’m curious to hear more about real-world experiences. Does anyone have hands-on experience with both models? What factors did you consider when choosing one over the other? I’d love to know if there are any hidden features or potential drawbacks I should be aware of before making my decision.
Also, if anyone has tips on installation or integration with Home Assistant, that would be super helpful! I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences. Thanks in advance for your insights!
