I’ve been diving into the world of smart switches lately, and I’m curious to hear others’ experiences with the Shelly Button Plus Shelly One versus the Sonoff Basic R3. From what I’ve seen, the Shelly offers a sleeker design and more intuitive setup, but it’s more than double the price of the Sonoff. My use case is pretty straightforward: I want to add a smart/manual switch to a lamp. While I know I could use a smart plug, having a physical switch is much more convenient, especially when I’m trying to turn the light off from bed!
Has anyone had success with either of these devices in a similar setup? I’d love to hear about your experiences, any pros or cons, and whether the Shelly’s premium features justify the price difference. If you’ve tried both, what made you choose one over the other? I’m also open to other recommendations if there’s a better option out there!
Looking forward to your insights! ![]()
