I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! I recently got my hands on a Shelly 2PM Gen3 and a Shelly 1, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to integrate them into my setup. Let me share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First off, I’ve successfully connected my Shelly 2PM Gen3 to both Home Assistant and Apple Home. It’s fantastic how smoothly it works out of the box. However, I’ve noticed that the roller shutter appears as a switch rather than a cover. I’ve tried switching the mode on the Shelly interface, but I’m not entirely sure which settings would optimize it for roller shutter control. Has anyone had success with this setup? I’d love to hear your tips!
On the other hand, my Shelly 1 is currently controlling my garage door, and it’s been working like a charm. I’m curious if it can also handle my roller shutters. I’ve read that the ‘Roller’ device type might be the way to go, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure it properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Another thing I’ve been exploring is integrating my Arlo cameras with SmartThings. I’ve managed to set them up as motion sensors, but I’m getting constant notifications even when I’m home. I’d love to find a way to disable these notifications while still keeping the cameras active for outdoor monitoring. Does anyone know of a workaround for this?
Lastly, I stumbled upon an interesting idea of using a Govee dehumidifier in dryer mode and then using the collected water to refill a Govee humidifier. It’s a neat way to recycle resources, and I’m eager to try it out myself!
If anyone has insights or experiences to share on these topics, I’d be thrilled to hear from you. Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other make the most of our smart home setups!
