Hello everyone, I’m diving into the world of SmartThings and home automation, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you all. Getting started with SmartThings has been both exciting and a bit challenging. I recently tried setting up a custom app, and while the basics worked smoothly, I encountered an interesting issue when authenticating. The error message “Please select at least one device to authorize” kept popping up. After some research and testing, I realized it was a matter of ensuring the right devices were selected in the preferences section. It’s a small detail, but it made all the difference!
Moving on to Homey integration, I’ve been impressed with how effortlessly it connects with Schlage locks. However, I noticed that the app doesn’t provide real-time status updates for the locks, which is something I’d love to see improved. If anyone has a workaround or a clever way to track lock statuses, I’d love to hear about it!
Another area I’ve been exploring is cameras and live feeds. I was disappointed to find that the Cam OG only allows two live connections at a time. It’s a bit limiting, especially if multiple family members want to check in simultaneously. Has anyone found a way to bypass this or discovered a similar camera with better connectivity?
On a more positive note, I’ve been experimenting with Govee products for my gaming room. Their Glide and Lyra setups have been fantastic, and the RGB lighting adds a whole new dimension to my setup. I’m curious if anyone else has tips or tricks for optimizing these devices for gaming environments.
Lastly, I wanted to share a quick tip for anyone struggling with SmartThings authentication. Make sure all your devices are properly paired and that their settings are correctly configured in the app. Sometimes, a simple restart or reconnection can resolve unexpected issues.
I’d love to hear about your experiences with these devices and any tips you might have. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most out of our smart homes!
