First off, I’ve been experimenting with setting up automations using SmartThings, and it’s been a fascinating journey. I’ve managed to create some basic rules, like turning on lights when motion is detected, but I’m now curious about more complex scenarios.
One thing I’ve been pondering is how to prevent automation loops. For instance, if I set a scene via an input select and also have an automation that triggers on changes to that input select, could it cause unintended loops? I’d love to hear how others handle such situations and ensure their automations run smoothly without causing any issues.
Another challenge I’ve encountered is with notification icons. After sending a notification to my iOS device via the HA app, the icon still shows unread notifications even after I’ve dismissed them. I’ve tried checking Notification Center and holding down the app icon, but nothing seems to clear it. Has anyone else faced this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?
I’d also love to hear about any tips or best practices for designing efficient and reliable automations. Whether it’s structuring rules, testing scenarios, or debugging, I’m eager to learn from the community’s experiences.
