Exploring SmartThings HubAction Responses and Device Customization

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the SmartThings ecosystem and have some questions and experiences to share regarding hubaction responses and device customization.

First, I came across the index:01 field in hubaction responses. Does anyone know what this represents? It seems static regardless of the number of requests I send. Also, I’m curious about the undocumented hubaction.options. I’ve seen outputMsgToS3:true used, but I’m looking for an option to tag requests for easier reconciliation. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with modifying standard Z-Wave contact devices to function as smoke and CO sensors. This was inspired by integrating my Kidde sensors into SmartThings. The process involved some research and customization, but it’s been a rewarding experience. I’d love to hear if others have tackled similar projects or have tips for improving this setup.

Lastly, I’m exploring the possibility of using IFTTT to program waypoints for my pan camera. Imagine having the camera face the door when I’m away and turn towards the living room when I’m home. Is this achievable with IFTTT? I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with similar automation.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your feedback and suggestions!
