Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into some interesting challenges with my smart home setup and thought I’d share my experiences and seek some advice. First off, I’ve noticed something peculiar with my C-4 device. It’s been giving me temperature readings that seem a bit off. For instance, I’m seeing readings as high as 86°C, which doesn’t quite add up when I physically check the device. I’ve cross-referenced this with an infrared thermometer, and the surface temperature is around 31°C. This discrepancy has me puzzled, especially since other devices like my Raspberry Pi 4 are running much cooler despite higher CPU usage. I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in how the temperature is being processed or if there’s a configuration tweak that could help.
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating some motorized blinds using RFXCOM. It’s been a learning curve figuring out how to get them to move smoothly, especially when controlling multiple motors at once. The idea of having them open or close uniformly sounds great, but in practice, there’s still a bit of lag. I’d love to hear if anyone has tips or tricks for achieving better synchronization. Maybe there’s a smarter way to set the top and bottom limits or adjust the automation logic to make the movements more seamless.
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about how to optimize my LED lighting setup. I’ve got some 1m and 5m strips, and while they’re versatile, I’d love to see more options for custom lengths without the waste. It would be fantastic if manufacturers offered more flexible configurations or standalone controllers to make it easier to mix and match different lengths. If anyone has a workaround or a product suggestion, I’d be all ears!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences. Let’s keep the smart home innovations rolling! ![]()
