Exploring the Benefits of Multiple Device Names for Alexa

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about how to make my smart home setup more user-friendly. As I get older, I sometimes mix up the names of my devices, which can be frustrating, especially when trying to control them with Alexa. For example, I have a device called garden speakers, but I often refer to them as outdoor speakers. I was wondering if there’s a built-in way to assign multiple names to a single device so that Alexa can still recognize it even if I call it by a different name.

I’ve tried searching through the Alexa app settings, but I couldn’t find an option for adding aliases or secondary names. Maybe there’s a workaround or a feature request I can look into? If anyone has experience with this or knows of a clever solution, I’d love to hear about it!

This would be especially helpful for devices that are used in different contexts or by multiple family members who might refer to them by different names. It would also make my smart home setup more intuitive and less prone to errors.

I’m curious if others have faced this issue or if there’s a community-developed solution out there. Let me know your thoughts or any tips you might have!
