As someone who has had the pleasure of experimenting with various lighting systems, I wanted to share my experiences and insights, especially for those considering a renovation or extension in Australia. While I’ve had great success with retrofit Nue Zigbee light switches in my previous home, the occasional unreliability of the devices and the zigbee network has made me think twice for my new project.
In my research, I’ve come across a few promising options. Lutron Caseta has been a standout due to its reliability and seamless integration with smart home ecosystems. However, I’m a bit hesitant about the limited number of extender hubs and the fact that it’s primarily imported rather than officially supported here. Dynalite has also caught my eye for its strong HA integration, though it feels a bit outdated compared to more modern systems.
I’m leaning towards investing in a system that offers both reliability and flexibility, given the size of the house. The ability to control lights remotely and integrate with other smart devices is a must for me.
