Exploring the Integration of Xiaomi Aqara Sensors with Loxone

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent journey integrating Xiaomi Aqara sensors into my Loxone smart home system. As someone who’s relatively new to openHAB, this project has been both challenging and rewarding. My goal was to sync temperature data from my Xiaomi sensors with Loxone for heating control, but I quickly realized the Loxone binding alone wasn’t enough. It only allowed sending commands to specific channels, not updating analog inputs like temperature readings. After some research, I turned to the TCP/UDP binding in openHAB, thinking it could bridge the gap. I set up a Number item linked to both the Xiaomi sensor and the UDP binding, hoping it would push updates to Loxone. The logs showed the item updating, and the UDP channel seemed to connect, but no data was actually reaching Loxone. I even tried tweaking the udp.cfg file to ensure the binding was sending data, but still no luck. It was frustrating, but also a great learning experience. I discovered that rules might be necessary to actively send data, but my openHAB knowledge was still too limited to tackle that confidently. I’m now exploring the possibility of creating a simple rule to trigger the UDP send action whenever the temperature changes. This project has made me realize how powerful openHAB can be when combining different bindings and rules. I’m also grateful for the openHAB community, whose documentation and forums have been invaluable. If anyone has experience with similar setups or tips on getting the UDP binding to work reliably, I’d love to hear your insights! Thanks for reading, and happy automating! :rocket:
