Exploring the Optimum Start/Stop Function for Radiant Floor Heating

Hi everyone! I recently came across the new Optimum Start/Stop setting for radiant floor heating in the Homematic IP app, and I’m really curious about how it works. From what I understand, this feature automatically calculates the necessary preheating time to reach the desired temperature at the set time. It sounds like a great way to optimize heating efficiency, especially for those with radiant floor systems.

I have a few questions for anyone who might have experience with this feature:

  • Has anyone successfully implemented this setting? If so, how does it perform in real-world scenarios?
  • What are the prerequisites for using this function? Are there specific components or configurations needed?
  • How does the system determine the preheating time? Is it based on historical data or real-time conditions?

I’m planning to install HmIP-BWTH wall thermostats in the coming months, which I believe should work well with this feature. I’m eager to hear others’ experiences and insights to better understand how to make the most of this functionality. Cheers from Vienna! :tropical_drink:
