Hi everyone, I’m diving into the world of true home automation and I’m excited to share my journey with you. My goal is to create a seamless system that allows me to control various scenes in my home with just the press of a button. I’ve been researching portable button controllers that can integrate with my Zigbee network, and I must say, it’s been quite the adventure!
I came across the RGBgenie ZW-5121 and ZB5003 remotes, which caught my eye due to their sleek design and functionality. However, I’ve heard mixed reviews about their compatibility with Home Assistant (HA). I’m curious if anyone has had success integrating these devices or if there are alternative options that might work better.
Another device I stumbled upon is the Aeotec Multi-Sensor 6, which seems promising but is a bit pricey. I’m also considering the Remotec ZRC-90, but its cost is double that of other models, which is a bit of a barrier for me. I’m wondering if there’s a more affordable option that still meets my requirements for functionality and ease of use.
I’ve looked into the Compatible Devices List and the Button Controller Matrix, but I’m still not sure if I’m missing something. I know some might suggest using a Pico remote, but I’m not convinced about its utility for my specific needs. I’m hoping to find a solution that allows me to control multiple actions with just a few buttons, without having to add another hub to my setup.
If anyone has experience with these devices or can recommend a different approach, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s explore the possibilities together and see how we can enhance our smart home setups. Thanks for your insights and happy automating! ![]()
