Exploring the Wyze Cam v2: My Experience and Tips

I’ve been using the Wyze Cam v2 for a few months now, and I must say, it’s been a great addition to my home security setup. The video quality is crisp, and the two-way audio feature has been super handy for checking in on my pets while I’m away. However, I’ve recently encountered an issue that’s been a bit of a nuisance.

Every now and then, my Wyze Cam v2 loses its Wi-Fi connection. It’s not a constant problem, but when it happens, it’s a bit unsettling. I’ve tried the usual troubleshooting steps—rebooting the camera, resetting the router, even doing a factory reset on the camera itself. Sometimes, these steps work, and the camera reconnects without any issues. But other times, I’m met with that frustrating ‘Connected, no internet’ message, which is pretty confusing because I know the camera is seeing the Wi-Fi network.

I’ve also noticed that the problem seems to coincide with brief outages from my internet provider. I live in an area where power outages are somewhat common, and unfortunately, I can’t switch providers right now. This makes me wonder if there’s a way to make the Wyze Cam v2 more resilient to these connectivity issues. I’ve heard that using a smart plug with the camera might help, but I’m not sure if that’s the best solution. If the power goes out, I’d still want the camera to kick back in once the power returns without needing manual intervention.

I’m curious to know if others have experienced similar issues with their Wyze Cam v2 units. Have you found any reliable workarounds or settings adjustments that can help maintain a stable connection? I’d also love to hear if anyone has successfully used a smart plug with their Wyze Cam v2 to improve reliability. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

In the meantime, I’ll keep experimenting with different settings and maybe look into upgrading the firmware if there’s a newer version available. Fingers crossed that there’s a fix out there that can make my Wyze Cam v2 as reliable as I hoped it would be.
