Exploring Wyze Camera AI and SmartThings Integration

I’ve been really impressed with the new person detection AI feature on Wyze cameras. It’s a game-changer for keeping an eye on my driveway without getting overwhelmed by false alerts from tree shadows. However, I’m curious if Wyze has any plans to expand this AI to vehicle detection as well. Imagine being able to easily sort through event clips for cars without the hassle of constant false triggers! I’d love to hear from anyone who’s experimented with similar setups or has tips for minimizing false positives in windy conditions.

On another note, I’ve been diving into SmartThings integration with my Wyze doorbell. Setting it up was pretty straightforward, but I did run into a few quirks. For instance, connecting it to my 5GHz network was a no-go—it only worked when I switched to 2.5GHz. I also noticed inconsistencies in motion sensitivity between my front and side door units. Adjusting the sensitivity settings helped, but it was a bit trial and error. If anyone has a more systematic approach to this, I’d love to hear about it!

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with using Alexa to control my SmartThings devices. It’s amazing how seamlessly they work together, but I did stumble upon a quirk where my siren was being recognized as a switch. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I’m curious if others have found a way to better categorize their devices within Alexa. Overall, my journey with Wyze and SmartThings has been mostly smooth, with a few bumps that I’m eager to tackle head-on!
