Hey everyone, I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and they’ve been a great addition to my smart home setup. However, I’ve recently encountered an issue with one of my Wyze Cam Pan v2 cameras that I’m hoping the community can help me with.
The problem is that the camera is detecting motion outside the defined detection zone. I’ve set up the zone carefully to focus on the area I care about, but the camera still picks up movement well outside of it. This is particularly frustrating because it’s leading to unnecessary alerts and even false detections of people and vehicles. I haven’t made any changes to the camera’s settings, and the firmware is up to date, so I’m a bit puzzled about what’s causing this.
I remember reading somewhere that this might be related to cloud processing issues, but I’m not entirely sure. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. I’d love to resolve this without having to go through the hassle of contacting customer support, especially since it worked fine for a while.
On a more positive note, I’ve been really impressed with how the Wyze cameras integrate with my Home Assistant setup. The motion detection feature is incredibly useful when it works as intended, and I’d love to get it back to its best performance. If anyone has tips on optimizing detection zones or improving accuracy, I’d be happy to hear them.
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions! It’s great to be part of such a supportive community. ![]()
