Exploring Yeelight Bulbs and Commands with the Miio Binding

I’ve recently set up my Yeelight bulbs, including color and white variants, along with LED strips and a desk lamp, all integrated using the Xiaomi Miio binding. It’s been a fascinating journey, and I’m excited to share my experiences and seek some guidance from the community.

Setup and Configuration
I started by configuring each bulb and strip in the Things section, ensuring each had the correct IP address, token, and device ID. The items were then added to the sitemap, allowing me to control brightness, color temperature, and even RGB settings. The initial setup worked smoothly, and I was able to turn the lights on and off without any issues.

The Challenge
However, I encountered a problem when trying to execute more complex commands. Specifically, I wanted to create rules where pressing a wireless switch would adjust the brightness and color temperature of the bulbs or LED strips. Despite writing the rules and testing them, the bulbs only turned on with their default settings, ignoring the specified configurations.

Troubleshooting
I checked the logs, and everything seemed to be in order. The commands were being received, but the bulbs weren’t responding as expected. I tried different approaches, including adjusting the order of commands and simplifying the rules, but the issue persisted. I even reinstalled the binding and double-checked all configurations, but the problem remained.

Seeking Solutions
I’ve spent quite some time searching through forums and documentation, but I haven’t found a clear solution yet. I’m hoping someone with more experience in the Miio binding might have encountered a similar issue or could offer some insights. Maybe there’s a specific setting or command structure I’m missing?

Looking Ahead
Despite the setback, I’m determined to get this working. I’m considering experimenting with different brightness and color values or perhaps exploring additional features of the binding. I’m also thinking about reaching out to the developers to see if this is a known issue or if there’s a workaround.

I’d really appreciate any advice or tips the community might have. Let’s see if we can crack this together!
