Exploring Z-Wave Automation and Smart Lighting

I’ve recently dove into the world of smart home automation, and it’s been an absolute thrill! :tada: I’ve installed a few Z-Wave controllers under my cabinets and a GE Z-Wave wall switch to control the lighting. Using SmartThings, I’ve set up some basic automation rules—like toggling the lights when the switch is flipped. It’s amazing how seamless this integration is!

However, as I’m preparing to move, I’m curious about the best way to transfer this setup to the new owners. My current plan is to use an Aeon Minimote as the primary controller, but I’m wondering if there’s a more straightforward or reliable solution out there. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :bulb:

Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is creating a two-way switch setup using Z-Wave wall switches. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any direct two-way switches on the market, so I’m considering wiring one switch to control the lights and using the other as a dummy switch to send/receive status updates. I’m leaning toward using rules instead of associations for this, but I’m not entirely sure. If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear your thoughts! :jigsaw:

On a lighter note, I’ve also been blown away by the Govee products my daughter introduced me to. Their RGB lighting options are truly a game-changer, and I can’t recommend them enough! :rainbow: Light up your space, and let your creativity shine! :sparkles:

Overall, the journey into smart home tech has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next. Thanks to everyone in the community for your insights and support—here’s to many more enlightening projects! :rocket:
