I’ve been diving into my OpenHAB setup, meticulously cleaning up logs ahead of the OH3 rollout. Recently, I stumbled upon a puzzling issue with Z-Wave nodes. My logs were flooded with warnings about NODE 152 not initializing, despite this node not being part of my network. My current nodes max out at 42, so where could this phantom node be coming from? Could it be picking up a neighbor’s Z-Wave signal by chance? I’m genuinely curious if anyone else has encountered this or has insights into resolving it.
My Observations:
- The warnings consistently point to NODE 152, which I don’t own.
- My Z-Wave network seems stable otherwise, with all my devices functioning correctly.
- I’ve checked my network settings and firmware versions, but nothing stands out as the culprit.
Steps I’ve Tried:
- Resetting the Z-Wave Controller: I performed a soft reset to see if that would clear the phantom node. Unfortunately, the warnings persisted.
- Checking for Interference: I moved my Z-Wave controller to different locations to rule out external interference, but the issue remained.
- Reviewing Logs: I’ve combed through the logs to see if there’s any pattern or additional clues, but it’s been a dead end so far.
Community Input Needed:
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Could this be a bug in the Z-Wave binding, or is there a configuration tweak I’m missing? Any guidance or shared experiences would be invaluable as I try to resolve this mystery.
Looking forward to hearing from others who might have faced and overcome this challenge!
