Exploring Z-Wave Plug Switching and Multiroom Audio

Hi all, I’m excited to share my recent project and experiences with integrating Z-Wave technology into my home audio system. I recently purchased the LEPY 2024A Plus Amplifier to power my in-ceiling speakers, which are connected to a Sonos Connect. While I only have two of us in the house, I wanted to explore a cost-effective way to manage audio across multiple rooms without individual Sonos units for each space.

I initially tested the setup with a Wemo switch, but noticed some inconsistencies, particularly a ‘popping’ sound when turning off. This made me wonder if others have had similar experiences or if there are long-term issues with this configuration. I’m curious if Z-Wave mains switches would provide a smoother experience compared to the Wemo alternative.

For those who might be considering a similar setup, I’d love to hear about your experiences, challenges, and solutions. Have you successfully integrated Z-Wave switches with audio equipment? What kind of results have you seen in terms of reliability and performance?

Additionally, if anyone has tips or best practices for optimizing multiroom audio systems, I’d be grateful for the insights. It’s been a fascinating journey so far, and I’m eager to learn more from the community!

Cheers,
Ed
