Hi everyone, I’m diving into the world of Z-Wave and have a few questions and experiences to share. I recently purchased the FG-IBT4ZWAVE device and set it up about 50 meters away from my portal. While it works, I’m noticing some connectivity issues, likely due to the distance. The device has a 10dbM internal antenna, but I’m curious about its effective range and how to optimize it.
I’ve considered adding a Z-Wave mesh extender, but the closest plug-in option is still 40 meters away from the portal. Another idea is to attach an external antenna for a 3dbi boost. I’m not entirely sure how to proceed, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with creating simple automation rules to control my lights and thermostat. It’s been a fun challenge, and I’ve learned a lot about the capabilities of Z-Wave devices. I’d love to hear how others have optimized their setups, especially for longer-range devices.
