Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave security lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. I recently upgraded my setup to include secure pairing for my front door lock, which has been a great learning experience. However, I’ve hit a snag that I’m hoping you all might have insights on.
After successfully pairing my lock with a Z-Wave.me UZB1 stick using OpenZWave and OZCP, I tried integrating it into my OpenHAB setup. Unfortunately, despite configuring the network key in OpenHAB, the lock doesn’t seem to be recognized or controlled properly. I’m curious if this is due to the Z-Wave security class still being under development in OpenHAB or if there’s something I missed in the configuration process.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that while I can manually lock or unlock the door, the status updates in OZCP aren’t reflecting these changes in real time. This makes it a bit tricky to ensure everything is working as intended. I’d love to hear if others have encountered similar issues or have tips for troubleshooting this.
On a more positive note, I’ve been impressed with how secure the pairing process feels compared to my previous setup. It’s reassuring to know that my smart lock is using the latest security protocols. I’m hoping to get this fully integrated into my OpenHAB system soon so I can control it alongside my other devices seamlessly.
