Exploring Zigbee and Hue Integration Tips & Tricks

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share some of my experiences and tips regarding Zigbee and Hue integration in my smart home setup. I recently started diving into Zigbee and have been curious about how the coordinator stores linked devices. From what I understand, unlike Z-Wave, Zigbee devices store their configurations locally, which means switching coordinators won’t lose your settings—a huge plus for flexibility!

Another topic I wanted to touch on is the delay I noticed when using Hue lights in flows versus the Hue bridge. I’ve found that using the bridge eliminates this delay, making everything smoother. If anyone else has experienced this or has tips on optimizing this, I’d love to hear about it!

For those of you who might be troubleshooting, I recently came across a neat trick for testing IR LEDs on Homey. Simply use the Homey app to send IR commands to your devices and see if they respond. It’s a simple way to ensure everything is working as it should without needing extra tools.

Lastly, I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on. I’ve been using my cameras to capture some amazing footage of the wildlife around my home, especially the robins nesting on my porch. It’s been a delightful way to connect with nature while utilizing my smart home tech. Plus, the footage has been great for editing and sharing with family and friends!

If anyone has any questions or experiences to share regarding these topics, feel free to jump in. Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other make the most out of our smart home setups!
