I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey!
One of the most exciting aspects for me has been integrating Zigbee devices with OpenHAB. I’ve managed to set up a few sensors and switches around my home, and it’s been working like a charm so far. ![]()
However, I hit a snag when trying to connect a door/window sensor with the model number MC510A-A002. Despite following the setup instructions, it just wouldn’t pair with my ConBee II device. After some digging through logs and forums, I realized it might be a compatibility issue. I’m hopeful that with some more troubleshooting, I’ll get it sorted out soon. ![]()
On a more positive note, I’ve successfully implemented a custom automation using Shelly devices. The idea was to have my porch lights turn on at sunset and off at 11 PM. But here’s the kicker—I wanted them to stay on even if someone accidentally flips the switch during those hours. After some trial and error, I managed to set up a rule that turns the lights back on after a minute if the switch is toggled. It’s a small victory, but it feels huge! ![]()
I’d love to hear from others who’ve tackled similar projects or have tips for improving my setup. Let’s keep the smart home magic alive! ![]()
