Hey everyone!
I’ve been diving into the world of Zigbee devices lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice. I recently picked up the Gledopto GL-C-008 RGB+CCT LED controller, which claims to be compatible with a variety of platforms, including Zigbee. The setup seemed straightforward—connecting it to my Zigbee binding worked without issues, and basic functions like switching, dimming, and adjusting warm/cold white tones work perfectly. However, I’ve hit a snag with the color (RGB) functionality. The Paper UI doesn’t list color as an adjustment option, and using a color picker on the sitemap throws an error. It’s frustrating because when I connected the controller to the Hue bridge, the color worked seamlessly. I’m curious if there’s a way to enable RGB color adjustments with the Zigbee binding or if there’s a configuration step I’m missing. ![]()
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with ESPHome for a project involving the Heltec Vision Master E290 ePaper display. The installation went smoothly, and ESPHome communicates with the device without issues. However, getting the screen to update has been a challenge. The logs show that updates are being attempted, but the display remains stuck on the last image from the stock firmware. I’ve tried different configurations and models in my YAML setup, but nothing seems to work. I’m wondering if there’s a specific pin configuration or driver I should be using instead. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
Lastly, I’ve been trying to set up a simple automation using the SmartThings platform. I want to create a rule that sends a reminder to my phone if the garage door remains open for more than 15 minutes. While setting up the trigger was straightforward, I’m getting stuck on how to implement the delay and notification part. If anyone has experience with similar automations or can point me to a reliable guide, I’d be really thankful. ![]()
Overall, I’m loving the flexibility and creativity that these devices and platforms offer, but there’s definitely a learning curve. I’m excited to continue exploring and can’t wait to see what other projects I can tackle next!
Happy tinkering everyone! ![]()
