Hello everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent experiences with integrating Zigbee devices into my smart home setup using OpenHAB. As someone who’s relatively new to the world of home automation, I’ve been on a quest to create a seamless and efficient system, and Zigbee has been a fascinating part of this journey.
I recently decided to switch my IKEA lamps to OpenHAB 3, but without an IKEA gateway. From what I understand, controlling the lights directly might not be straightforward, but I’m determined to figure it out. I’ve managed to pair the IKEA switch (E1743) with zigbee2mqtt, and it’s been a great experience so far. However, I’m still exploring how to integrate the controller (ICPSHC24-30EU-IL-1) with zigbee2mqtt while keeping the switch functional. It’s been a bit of a puzzle, but I’m hopeful there’s a solution out there!
Another aspect I’ve been diving into is the firmware for my Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle-e. I’ve been using the original version 6.10.3 with ZHA, but I’m eager to switch to zigbee2mqtt for better compatibility and functionality. I’ve heard there are newer firmware versions, but I’m not entirely sure how they differ or which one would be best for my setup. Any insights from the community would be invaluable!
I must say, the zigbee2mqtt community has been amazing. Their documentation and support have been instrumental in helping me troubleshoot and optimize my setup. It’s truly inspiring to see how open-source projects like this bring people together to create something so impactful.
If anyone has tips or tricks for integrating multiple Zigbee devices or recommendations for firmware versions, I’d love to hear them! Let’s continue to learn and grow together in this exciting space of smart home automation.
