Extending Z-Wave Network in a Metal Garage

I recently set up a Vera Plus controller in my mobile home and have been using it to control some outdoor lights. The light switch for one of the outdoor lights is located in a metal shed in the driveway, while the Vera Plus controller is inside the home. Both the home and shed are made of metal, which I suspect is causing some signal issues.

I’ve tried a few things to improve the connection, like switching the electrical box to a plastic one and adding a Z-Wave external plugin halfway between the controller and the shed. When the shed door is open, I can control the lights from the UI or through a scene I created. However, when the door is closed, the signal seems to struggle, especially with the metal structures blocking the Z-Wave network.

One idea I’ve come across is using a Vera Edge as a slave to the Vera Plus, combined with an Ethernet Powerline extender, to extend the Z-Wave network into the shed. I’m curious if anyone has successfully implemented something like this. Are there any potential pitfalls or alternative solutions I should consider? Any advice or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!
