Failed occupancy sensing with FP300

I am having difficulties with an FP300 acquired in November 2025. Initially, the device continually indicated dead batteries. Assuming that being correct I replaced the batteries 3 or 4 times only to discover that the batteries all showed 5v with a multimeter. After upgrading to the current firmware the batteries now read at 100% for a couple of months. However, the Occupancy Sensor has now gone crazy. I have reset, factory reset, replaced batteries, removed the device from Apple Home as well as the Aqara app. All times of day under all conditions the device fails to sense presence accurately.

Any clues as to what can be done? What is my recourse for this apparently failed device?

Hello, welcome to the forum.
Have you tried enabling AI training for the FP300 sensor in the APP?

That option is not available through a thread/matter connection routed through an M100 hub and on to the Apple Home network.

Hi @Expert. Do you think setting the sensor to Zigbee and then switching back to Thread would help?

As the user has an M100 I’d definitely go zigbee mode anyway and share out from m100 in matter bridge, zigbee mode offers many more options.
