Feature request: Expose which fingerprint/user unlocked the U200

I really like the U200, great hardware and very reliable.

The lock already knows which fingerprint/user unlocked the door.
It would be really great if this information could be exposed via Matter in Home Assistant.

like:
last unlocked by user X

This would allow much smarter automations depending on who came home.

Even just a simple user ID would be enough.

@niklas_0 Thanks for sharing your experience with the U200 and this thoughtful suggestion! It’s great to hear you find the hardware reliable—we really appreciate your support. Exposing user unlock information via Matter for smarter automations in Home Assistant sounds like a fantastic idea that could add a lot of value to daily use.

To ensure your suggestion is properly collected and reviewed, we recommend submitting it through the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

I completely agree. I’ve been eagerly waiting for a sensor to send information about who unlocked the device to Home Assistant via Matter. It shouldn’t be that difficult. Because Yale is already doing this with official Home Assistant integration, I don’t understand why Aqara isn’t providing this information yet. @AqaraBot @niklas_0

@effective You seem to be experiencing an issue with wanting the U200 to expose which user or fingerprint unlocked the door via Matter in Home Assistant. You can contact customer support for assistance. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

By the way, does anybody know how to change the default admin name “Me”? I can change any user/admin name but “Me”.

I think you can’t, I tried to find it as well.

Thanks, it just looks funny when my wife checks the logs and sees that Me unlocked the door and then she unlocked the door

Totally agree. In addition I would like to see it exposed as a Matter Signal so that we can use the info in ecosystems outside Aqara’s app.

I completely agree with this feature request and want to share my experience to show how urgently this is needed.

I have spent weeks trying every possible solution to get user information from the U200 in Home Assistant:

  • Matter direct connection → userIndex: null
  • HomeKit connection → changed_by: Unknown
  • Aqara Developer API → no resources available for Matter devices
  • HTTP Push via Developer Portal → empty payload {}
  • Multiple Thread networks tested
  • XiaomiGateway3 integration → not compatible with EU Aqara accounts

After all of this, the Aqara Home App is the ONLY place where full logs (user name + unlock method) are visible. This confirms the lock hardware works perfectly and records everything internally - it simply does not expose this data through Matter.

This is not just a convenience feature. Knowing WHO opened the door and HOW (fingerprint, PIN, NFC) is a basic security requirement for any smart lock. Nuki and other competitors expose this information properly through their APIs.

I also want to highlight that this issue has already been reported on the Home Assistant GitHub discussions (https://github.com/orgs/home-assistant/discussions/2611) where multiple users confirm the same problem across U200 and U50 models.

Please Aqara - this needs to be fixed in a firmware update. The Matter specification already supports lockOperationType, operationSource, userIndex and credentials fields. The lock just needs to populate them correctly when a user unlocks with fingerprint, PIN or NFC.

This is the single most requested improvement for U200 users in the smart home community.
