Feature Request: Motorized Smart Handle for Balcony/Patio Doors (Matter-over-Thread)

Hi Aqara Team and Community,

I am a big fan of the Aqara ecosystem and recently bought the Smart Lock U200. While it works great for standard doors with profile cylinders, I realized it cannot be used for European-style balcony or patio doors that use a standard window handle (Fenstergetriebe).

Currently, there is almost no competition for the “ABUS Wintecto One” – a motorized handle that physically turns the window/door mechanism. However, the ABUS model lacks native Matter support and requires yet another proprietary bridge.

My Request:
Please consider developing an Aqara Smart Window/Balcony Door Handle with the following features:

  1. Motorized Mechanism: Capable of turning the 7mm square spindle to lock/unlock the door.
  2. Matter-over-Thread: Native integration into Apple Home and other platforms without an extra bridge.
  3. External Access: Compatible with the Aqara NFC Keypads or Fingerprint sensors for entry from the garden.
  4. Safety: Integrated break-in sensors (vibration/tilt).

The U200 is amazing, but for balcony doors, we need a solution that replaces the handle itself. This would be a game-changer for many European users!

What do you think? Any plans for such a device?

Best regards,
Vlad

To give you more context on why this is so important for me:

My son uses the patio door every day to park his bike before and after school. Currently, I have an Aqara Mini Switch outside so he can ‘ring’ the bell. I get a notification on my phone, but then I have to stop whatever I’m doing and walk to the door to manually turn the handle for him.

Having a motorized handle integrated into the Aqara system would be a lifesaver. He could just use an NFC tag or fingerprint to enter independently. It’s the missing piece in an otherwise great smart home setup!
