Fibaro Dimmer Switch: Solving the Momentary Switch Issue

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Fibaro Dimmer 1 and its momentary switch. I recently installed it to control three wall lights, and while it works perfectly with Google Assistant and the SmartThings app, I encountered an issue with the physical switch. Initially, turning the lights on required pressing and holding the switch, followed by another press. Similarly, turning them off after some time needed the same double press. This was quite frustrating, especially late at night when I just wanted to turn the lights off quickly.

After some research and experimenting with different handlers, I stumbled upon a solution that worked for me. It turns out adjusting the debounce settings on the switch itself made a huge difference. By tweaking these settings, the switch now responds to a single press both for turning the lights on and off, regardless of how long they’ve been in a particular state.

This fix has been a game-changer for me, and I’m thrilled to share it in case anyone else is facing the same issue. It’s always reassuring to know that even when things seem tricky, there’s often a simple solution just waiting to be discovered.

Happy automating everyone! :star2:
