Hey everyone,
I’m really excited to share my recent experience with the Fibaro HC3 system! I’ve been wanting to dip my toes into home automation for a while, and finally decided to give it a go. ![]()
I started with the Fibaro Door-Window Sensor 2, which I installed on my front door. The installation process was straightforward, and I was thrilled to see that the sensor was working perfectly—detecting when the door opens and closes. However, there was one little hiccup that had me scratching my head for a bit. ![]()
In the Fibaro app on my Android phone, I noticed that while the temperature reading was showing up just fine, the door contact switch wasn’t visible at all. I was a bit confused because everything seemed to be connected properly. After doing a bit of research and reaching out to the community, I found out that the issue was related to the sensor’s pairing process. It turned out that I needed to ensure the sensor was fully paired with the HC3 hub before it would show up in the app. Once I did that, the door contact status started appearing like magic! ![]()
I wanted to share this experience because I know how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected, especially when you’re just starting out. The community here has been amazing, and I wanted to give back by sharing my troubleshooting journey. If anyone else is having similar issues, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to help! ![]()
For anyone considering the Fibaro system, I can confidently say it’s been a fantastic choice for me. The integration with other smart devices has been seamless, and the app is user-friendly. I’m already planning my next project—maybe adding some motion sensors or smart lighting! ![]()
Happy automating everyone! ![]()
