Fibaro Motion Sensor and Light Control: A Smart Automation Solution

I recently set up a Fibaro Motion Sensor in my living room to automate the lighting system. The goal was to have the lights turn on automatically when it gets dark and motion is detected. However, I encountered an interesting challenge—when the lights turn on, they make the room bright, which then tricks the motion sensor into thinking there’s no longer any motion, causing the lights to turn off again. It’s like an endless loop! After some research and experimentation, I found a solution by adjusting the sensor’s sensitivity and configuring the automation to account for the light changes. Now, the system works seamlessly—lights come on when it’s dark and motion is detected, and they stay on for a set period to avoid the loop issue. This experience taught me the importance of understanding sensor sensitivity and how environmental factors like lighting can impact automation. I’d love to hear how others have tackled similar challenges or if there are more advanced configurations to optimize motion sensor automation further. Let’s share our smart home hacks and learn together!
