Fibaro Motion Sensor Reaction Time and Solutions

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Fibaro motion sensor and how I managed to improve its reaction time. I’ve been using it to control my bathroom lights, and while it’s a solid device, I noticed some inconsistencies in its performance. Sometimes it wouldn’t react at all, and other times there was a noticeable delay.

I did some research and realized that, being a battery-operated device, it doesn’t relay signals to other devices. However, I was surprised to find that it didn’t have any neighbors listed in the variables table. This made me think there might be a configuration issue or perhaps a communication problem.

After some trial and error, I discovered that moving the sensor closer to my Vera Plus controller significantly improved the reaction time. It seems the proximity to the hub plays a crucial role in its performance. I also started monitoring the sensor’s behavior more closely and noticed that during peak usage times, the delay was more pronounced.

For anyone else experiencing similar issues, I’d recommend checking the placement of your sensor relative to your hub. If possible, try moving it closer to see if that makes a difference. Additionally, ensuring that the Vera Plus is functioning optimally and that there are no other devices causing interference on the network can help.

I’m happy to say that after making these adjustments, the sensor is now much more reliable. It’s a small tweak, but it makes a big difference in the overall user experience. If you have any other tips or solutions, I’d love to hear them!
