Hey everyone!
I wanted to share my experience with integrating the Fibaro Roller Shutter into my Home Assistant setup. If you’re new to this, don’t worry—I was in the same boat just a few weeks ago!
Initially, I was puzzled because the roller shutter showed up under the Cover heading instead of the specific room. After some digging, I realized it’s a matter of configuration. Here’s what I learned:
-
Device Placement - While the device might appear under a general category at first, you can easily move it to the correct room in the Configuration menu. This makes automations and controls much more intuitive!
-
Automation Setup - I wanted to automate the roller shutter based on sunrise and sunset. The key was to use Sun Events as triggers in my automations. You can set it to open at sunrise and close at sunset, or customize the times to suit your preferences.
-
Scene Integration - If you’re using scenes (like “Good Morning” or “Good Night”), you can include the roller shutter actions within these scenes. This means one press of a button can control multiple devices at once!
-
Tips for Newbies - If you’re struggling to see the roller shutter in the Devices section when creating automations, try searching by the device name or entity ID. It’s there, just might be hiding!
I’d also love to hear from others who have successfully integrated their Fibaro Roller Shutters! What creative automations have you come up with? ![]()
