I’ve been on a journey to modernize my home with smart devices, and it’s been a mix of triumphs and puzzles. Recently, I installed the Fibaro Single Switch 2 alongside some Panasonic exhaust fans, and while the setup was smooth at first, I encountered an intriguing issue that I wanted to share and discuss with the community.
After about a month of minimal use, the Fibaro unit mysteriously disappeared from my Z-Wave network. It still controlled the fan physically, but it was no longer recognized by my SmartThings Hub. Replacing it with another Fibaro switch temporarily fixed the issue, but it resurfaced a month later. This pattern led me to wonder if there’s a connection between the Fibaro switch and the Panasonic fans, especially since the switch is situated near several other Fibaro devices.
I’ve reached out to the community to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue or has insights into why this might be happening. It’s a fascinating problem because it combines hardware reliability with network communication, and I’m eager to explore potential solutions or workarounds.
In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with different configurations and testing the switch outside the wall setup. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m hopeful that with some troubleshooting and community input, I can resolve this and continue my smart home journey without hiccups.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Fibaro switches or Z-Wave devices in general? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips!
