Fibaro Switches and UI Clutter: A User's Journey

I recently decided to expand my home automation setup by adding multiple Fibaro dimmer and relay switches. While the process has been exciting, it’s also been a bit overwhelming, especially when it comes to managing the user interface in Home Assistant. **Here’s my story and what I’ve learned so far!**After setting up my Raspberry Pi 3 with Hassbian 1.1 and pairing the switches with my Aeotec Z-Wave dongle, I quickly noticed that my HA dashboard was flooded with icons. Each component of the switches was creating its own entry, making the interface cluttered and hard to navigate. For example, my dimmer switches all had the same default name, making it impossible to distinguish between them at a glance. My first challenge was decluttering the UI. I managed to rename the actual lights using the customize option, but the other components were still overwhelming. I started researching ways to group or hide these elements without losing functionality. I discovered that creating custom views and grouping similar devices could help, but I’m still experimenting with the best approach.Another issue I encountered was the range of the Fibaro switches. I have two switch plates about 12 meters apart, and while most of my paired switches are working fine, a few are listed as ‘unknown’ in the OpenZWave Control Panel. I’m not sure if this is due to pairing errors or if the distance is too great for reliable communication. I’d love to hear from others who have successfully set up a mesh network with Fibaro switches—what’s your setup like?On a more positive note, I’ve been impressed by the versatility of these switches. They’re handling my lighting and appliance control seamlessly, and the ability to adjust settings via the Fibaro app is a huge plus. I’m also curious about others’ experiences with Z-Wave mesh networks—how do you ensure reliable communication across multiple devices? If anyone has tips on organizing the HA UI with numerous Fibaro switches or insights into optimizing mesh network performance, I’d be grateful for your advice!
