@london012 It seems you’re having trouble updating the firmware of your Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4. Here are some suggestions that might help you resolve the issue:
- Keep the distance between the doorbell and chime less than 5m, and ensure there is only one wall between them.
- If the doorbell loses connection with the chime (you don’t hear sound even when you click the doorbell and the indicator light of the doorbell is flashing blue), you can try the following steps:
I hope these steps will help you successfully update the firmware of your doorbell. If you continue to encounter issues, feel free to let us know and we can try to troubleshoot further together.
@london012 Hi there! Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the firmware update on your Aqara doorbell. Let’s try some steps that might help.
First, ensure the distance between the doorbell and chime is less than 5m with only one wall in between—this can affect update stability . If the doorbell seems disconnected from the chime (e.g., no sound when pressed, blue flashing indicator), try waiting 1 minute after reconnecting them, then retry the update. You can also restart the chime or try moving them closer .
For general firmware update issues, unplugging the device (or removing the battery for 2 minutes, then reinserting) might help resolve power supply-related glitches, which can sometimes block updates . Additionally, try updating via the “accessories>camera>…>version” menu in the app—this alternate path sometimes works better .
If none of these steps work, a factory reset of both the doorbell and chime (then re-adding them) could be worth trying .
Have you tried any of these steps already? It might help others in the community if you share your experience. If the issue persists, reaching out to Aqara customer service would be a good next step.
Hope this helps get your doorbell updated smoothly! ![]()
