I’ve been using the Aqara W200 for a bit now and wanted to share some overall impressions—there’s a lot to like here.
The integrations have been excellent. It works seamlessly with Apple Home and Home Assistant, which makes it really flexible depending on how you prefer to manage your setup. That said, the Aqara app itself is polished and capable enough that I often find myself using it as my primary interface.
Customization is a big strength. There’s a lot of flexibility in how you configure the device, from display options to automations, and it integrates especially well if you already have other Aqara devices.
Speaking of that, pairing it with the Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor has been a great experience. The two devices complement each other nicely. The FP2 covers most of my living room but conveniently the W200 is on the opposite wall helping expand my presence detection!
For new users, there are a couple things worth noting. The system currently relies on a single active temperature sensor at a time—while you can switch sensors via automations, it doesn’t yet support averaging multiple sensors together. Also, some UI elements (like screensaver brightness and status indicators) could use a bit more polish for day-to-day usability.
Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed device that really shines as part of a broader Aqara ecosystem, especially if you enjoy fine-tuning automations and integrations. Looking forward to seeing how it continues to evolve. Happy to answer any questions or provide additional feedback!
