Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the firmware update on my Wyze Cam v3. Earlier this week, I agreed to a bulk firmware update for my cameras, and unfortunately, this led to the disappearance of my floodlight functionality in the app. I was quite reliant on this feature for both security and convenience, so losing it was a bit of a setback. After the update, the floodlight icon appeared on the camera’s page but wasn’t recognized as installed. Every time I tried to add it, the app prompted me to check my Wi-Fi and reinstall the floodlight, which was frustrating since the Wi-Fi connection was stable. I attempted several troubleshooting steps, including soft and factory resets, updating the floodlight firmware, and even installing a new camera, but the issue persisted. I reached out to Wyze support, and they mentioned that a firmware update to re-recognize the floodlight might be necessary. While waiting for a resolution, I had to manually control the floodlight using the physical switch, which isn’t ideal. It’s a bit concerning that such a critical feature was lost due to an update, and I hope Wyze addresses this issue promptly. In the meantime, I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered similar problems or found a workaround. It’s a learning experience, and I’m optimistic that Wyze will sort this out soon.
