I’m sure that this has been covered a million times already, but I’ve not been able to connect my FP2 sensor to HA directly (or via my hub), I have used my H3 hub to share some automations via matter which is working (actually quite well) but I’ve seen people have been able to connect the FP2 via the homekit integration, but I just can’t seem to get it to work for me ![]()

@hearntd It sounds like you’re having a bit of a struggle connecting your Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 to Home Assistant via HomeKit. Let’s see how we can help you out!
From the reference I have, integrating the FP2 into Home Assistant typically involves using the HomeKit integration. Here are some steps you might find helpful:
-
Ensure Home Assistant and Node-RED Setup: Make sure that both Home Assistant and Node-RED are properly installed and configured. The Node-RED add-on should be installed and enabled in Home Assistant, and Node-RED should be configured to connect with Home Assistant.
-
Add FP2 to Home Assistant via HomeKit:
- First, ensure your FP2 sensor is integrated into Home Assistant using the HomeKit method.
- Make sure your phone and the home hub (like a HomePod) are on the same local network. Your phone should be connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi or a mixed-frequency WiFi (supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz).
- Follow the prompts in the “Home” app to scan the HomeKit QR code on the back of the FP2 for networking and adding the device.
-
Check Device List: Verify that the FP2 sensor appears correctly in the device list within Home Assistant.
-
Troubleshoot Network Connections: If there are any error codes or issues, make sure all devices (phone, FP2, and hub) are connected to the same local network to avoid connectivity issues.
If these steps don’t resolve the connectivity issue, it could be helpful to explore community forums for additional insights or share your setup details there to get tailored advice from fellow users. Keep experimenting, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance!
Thanks for the detailed reply, I’ll take a look at this and report back either way.

Happy tinkering, and I’m here if you need any more assistance!
The Aqara FP2 connects to Home Assistant through the HomeKit Controller integration. It doesn’t support Zigbee or Matter, so HomeKit is currently the only way to integrate it directly.
